Reverend Melanie Timbers, a native of Rankin, PA, is a daughter of the Emmanuel Baptist Church; joining Emmanuel in her youth.  After many years of being away from the church, she reunited her faith in Jesus Christ in 2001 and reconnected with her Emmanuel Baptist Church family. 

Reverend Timbers has served as a lay-leader in various ministries within Emmanuel such as the Young, Gifted, & Blessed Young Adult Ministry, Young Adult Choir & Praise Team, Chaplain in the Young Adult Usher Ministry. 

Reverend Melanie also has a passion for youth, having served in the Youth Ministry teaching Youth Bible Study & Sunday School as well as working in the church nursery.  She is also an active participant within the Street Evangelism Ministry, the Intercessory Prayer Ministry.

After several years of lay-ministry, Reverend Timbers accepted her calling into ministry and was licensed in the Emmanuel Baptist Church in 2004 and was later ordained in Potter’s House Ministries in 2006 where she continued to faithfully serve God in various ministries such as the Daughters of Zion Women’s Ministry and was later consecrated as a Youth Pastor serving in the Youth Ministry of Potter’s House Ministries.      


In 2012 Reverend Timbers graduated from Carlow University with a Bachelors Degree of Arts in Psychology.  She is currently enrolled in a dual Masters Degree Program at the University of Pittsburgh and the Pittsburgh Theological Seminary pursuing advanced degrees in both Social Work and Divinity.

Reverend Melanie aspires to use utilize this training to provide compassionate and loving counsel to the hurting in order to empower and equip individuals, families and communities to advance the Kingdom of God.     



In 2013 Reverend Timbers returned home to Emmanuel Baptist Church after many years of faithfully and passionately serving in the Body of Christ.   She is the host of the EBC Morning Prayer Line, the Director of the Outreach Sunday School Program in Hawkins Village and Co-Facilitator for the Woman-2-Woman Ministry. 

In May of 2015, Reverend Timbers was appointed Assistant Pastor of the Emmanuel Baptist Church, where she oversees the day-to-day operations of the ministerial staff, works with other church leaders to advance the mission and vision of the church, while assisting in Bible-based teaching, preaching and counseling of the EBC discipleship.

Reverend Melanie loves the Lord and is committed to lifting up the name of Jesus wherever she goes.  Her greatest desire is to help others cultivate an authentic relationship with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  

Reverend Timbers is the proud mother of two wonderful children Charles and Na’taya.
